Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Model for the Hydrology Management Development

Abstract:
In arid and semi-arid populated regions there is an urgent need to manage depleting water resources. In water management area geographical information systems (GIS) has been used extensively because of its fast compiling capability of spatial data. Many hydrologic models have been developed in recent past years but they being extremely complex in nature are inefficient in use. This paper aims at suggesting a general methodology for constructing a hydrologic model on a GIS supportive platform in the interest of water management. This model is also made for ground-elevation and height of existing features as main criteria.
