Title

Toxic Effect of Carvacrol in Vitis vinifera plant

Abstract

Carvacrol is one of the secondary metabolite extracted from the essential oil of Oreganum vulgare. It possesses various biological activities including anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant and many more. In this study the effect of carvacrol in Vitis vinifera plant was studied. It was found that increase concentration of carvacrol affects the chlorophyll, MDA and electrolyte content in the leaves of Vitis vinifera. The study further concluded that toxic effect of carvacrol can be used to treat the diseased plant.
