Title

Enhancing Yoga Practice through Real-time Posture Detection and Correction using Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into yoga practice offers significant potential for enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of postures, thus improving overall practice quality and reducing the risk of injury. This paper presents a novel system for real-time posture detection and correction in yoga using AI. Leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms and computer vision techniques, the system captures and analyzes the practitioner’s movements through a standard camera. By comparing the detected poses with a database of correct postures, the AI model identifies deviations and provides immediate corrective feedback. This real-time guidance ensures that practitioners maintain proper alignment and form throughout their session. Initial testing demonstrates the system’s high accuracy in posture detection and its effectiveness in offering precise corrections. The proposed solution not only aids individual practitioners but also serves as a valuable tool for yoga instructors in monitoring and guiding multiple students. This innovation in AI-driven posture correction holds promise for transforming yoga practice by making it more accessible, personalized, and safe.
