Title

AUTHENTICATION AND ACCESS CONTROL METHODS IN SMART CITIES WITH ENHANCED QUALITY OF SERVICE LEVEL

Abstract

The creation of smart cities has become essential in response to the difficulties presented by contemporary urban living as urbanisation picks up speed. Modern technology is used by smart cities to upgrade public services, upgrade infrastructure, and improve the standard of living for their citizens. Robust authentication and access control methods that guarantee security, privacy, and effective resource utilisation are essential to the successful implementation of smart cities. In order to improve the quality of service (QoS) levels, this article proposed Authentication and Access Control Methods in Smart Cities to Quality Of Service(2ASC-QOS) the different authentication and access control strategies used in smart cities. We cover more sophisticated approaches like biometrics, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and blockchain-based solutions in addition to more conventional strategies like passwords and PINs.Furthermore, we analyse how machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) contribute to the optimisation of these techniques. In order to design robust, adaptable, and user-centered urban settings, our analysis emphasises the significance of combining thorough security measures with QoS concerns. We demonstrate the useful advantages and difficulties of implementing these technologies in smart cities via case studies and real-world applications. The results highlight how authentication and access control solutions must be continuously innovated and adjusted to meet the changing needs of smart city ecosystems. The proposed model when compared with the traditional models performs better in authentication and access control.
