The world of technology continues to evolve, and thus, the approaches and techniques for commissioning crimes. It, along with prolific achievements, has surged people’s vulnerabilities. This paper would explore the scam of Digital Arrest, by understanding it under the Indian criminal justice system, along with the challenges of tackling such scams within the Indian legal framework. It would also consider relevant cases and the impacts created in the minds of people-whether psychological, financial, or otherwise, owing to such scams. With the rise in crimes, there comes the exigencies for remedies, which could be done through creating awareness. This paper would also explore the indispensable measures that would aid in reducing the damage done to an individual and certain steps which could be adopted to deal with the scam effectively.
