Title

E-commerce as a Tool for Inclusive Growth: Case Studies of Rural Artisans

Abstract

E-commerce platforms are increasingly being recognized as a powerful tool for empowering rural artisans and producers, enabling them to bypass traditional market barriers and access global consumers. This paper examines the socio-economic impact of e-commerce adoption in rural areas, focusing on its potential to reduce poverty, enhance gender equality, and promote sustainable development. Through case studies of successful e-commerce initiatives, the study highlights how digital platforms have transformed the livelihoods of rural artisans by providing them with direct market access, fair pricing, and opportunities for skill development. The research also explores the challenges of digital adoption, including issues of infrastructure, digital literacy, and market access. By analyzing the experiences of rural artisans who have embraced e-commerce, the paper identifies best practices and policy recommendations to support the digital transformation of rural economies. The findings underscore the importance of collaborative efforts between governments, private sector players, and non-profits in creating an enabling environment for inclusive growth through e-commerce.
