Innovations in AI and IoT Technologies with Application to Sustainable Agriculture and Societal Advancements

Abstract

The fusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) is unlocking transformative possibilities for sustainable agriculture and broader societal advancements. This thesis investigates recent innovations in AI-IoT technologies and their role in fostering intelligent, data-driven ecosystems that address critical challenges in food security, resource optimization, and rural development. In the context of sustainable agriculture, the study explores smart farming solutions such as AI-enabled crop monitoring, precision irrigation, automated disease detection, and yield prediction—powered by interconnected sensors, drones, and edge devices. These technologies facilitate efficient decision-making, reduce environmental impact, and improve productivity. Additionally, the research examines how AI- IoT integration supports societal progress through smart rural infrastructure, digital health services, and disaster resilience systems.
