Carbon Compass: Real-Time Tracking and Solutions for a Sustainable Future is an innovative application in an age characterised by heightened environmental consciousness. Low levels of awareness concerning personal and collective carbon footprints have caused alarming problems of climate change. Many people and companies do not have effective tracking systems that are of great importance in realising opportunities for emission reduction and sustainable practices. Carbon Compass addresses this problem using real-time data analytics in order to monitor an individual's carbon footprint painlessly. It tracks and highlights aspects with a high emission quotient and then presents each of those sources of emissions with personalised actionable tips: transport, energy usage, and waste management. Users are provided with features such as emission-reduction tips, alternatives, and a community challenge set up for accountability and engagement. Carbon Compass will make implementation intuitive, integrating several sources of data, and therefore powerful analytics. The continuous improvement powered by the machine learning algorithms and feedback from the user will provide the very best recommendations and optimise the experience of the user. It helps fill in the gap between knowing about environmental impact and acting upon it by changing the way we assess and manage the environment towards an ever greener future.
