Title

FinePayGo: A Digital Traffic Violation Management System

Abstract

With the rapid increase in vehicular traffic and urbanization, traditional methods of managing traffic violations—such as handwritten challans and manual record-keeping—have become increasingly inefficient, error-prone, and time-consuming. These outdated practices often lead to delayed fine processing, lack of transparency, loss of records, and limited accessibility for both traffic authorities and citizens. Additionally, the absence of a centralized, real-time monitoring system hinders effective enforcement and timely resolution of traffic violations. FinePayGo is an innovative, paperless platform designed to streamline the management of traffic violations through complete digitization. In response to the growing volume of road traffic and the limitations of traditional manual systems, FinePayGo offers a comprehensive digital solution that enhances accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in traffic law enforcement. The platform facilitates the real-time issuance of e-challans by traffic officers using vehicle or driver details, eliminating the delays and errors associated with handwritten fines. Users are provided with a secure, user-friendly interface to view and settle fines online, enabling faster resolution and improved compliance. The system supports various traffic violation categories, including over-speeding, drunk driving, helmetless riding, seatbelt violations, triple riding, and tampered or broken number plates. Developed with a front-end stack comprising HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap, FinePayGo ensures a responsive and intuitive user experience across devices. The backend is implemented using Java and SQL, offering robust and secure data management with real-time access to challan records. A centralized database maintains all violation records, ensuring consistency and traceability. The platform also includes secure user authentication and notification features, informing violators about issued challans and payment updates via integrated messaging systems. By digitizing the entire enforcement and payment process, FinePayGo minimizes human error, enhances administrative efficiency, and supports transparent governance. It contributes to safer roads and more effective traffic management through the use of modern technology and streamlined processes.
