This paper presents the design and development of a full-stack Expense Tracker application that enables users to manage their personal finances through a secure, intuitive interface. The system is built using a React frontend and a Node.js/Express backend with MongoDB as the database. Key features include user authentication, income and expense tracking, and real-time transaction updates. The application ensures data security using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for protected routes and supports user-friendly interactions through reusable form components and responsive layouts. The backend is structured around RESTful APIs for modularity and scalability. This paper also outlines the system architecture, backend logic, and user interaction flow using sequence diagrams and flowcharts. The result is a lightweight yet powerful tool for efficient personal finance management.
