Plant diseases significantly reduce agricultural productivity, especially in smallholder farming systems. Early and accurate disease diagnosis is critical for effective treatment and prevention. The Plantix mobile application utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to diagnose plant diseases through image recognition and offers tailored treatment recommendations. This paper explores the functionality, scientific basis, efficacy, and implications of the Plantix app for sustainable agriculture. Through case studies, data analysis, and literature review, the application’s strengths, limitations, and future potential are examined.
