Title

An Approach to Mitigate Security Attacks in Connected Vehicles Based on IoT Devices

Abstract

The study of the paper related to connected vehicles has all been greatly elaborated, and efficiency by the various IoT devices has improved automotive safety. Connected vehicle developments have also brought some security flaws, like opening the car doors without a key or permission, which is so dangerous that hackers online try to breach data using various attacks like data tampering, DoS attacks, and GPS spoofing. Analysis for the connected vehicle survey suggests a method for decreasing security attacks in connected vehicles using the secure communication (V2V and V2I) protocols and a real-time threat detection system using IoT-based security frameworks. Today’s era of trending attacks like GPS spoofing sends the fake location without permission and sends the data transmission between two devices. So, these attacks are currently performed. We mainly aim to try to reduce these types of attacks using the latest technology, like blockchain and machine learning. All authors already inform the intrusion detection system, and intrusion prevention system techniques still phase the attacks on many connected vehicles. In this paper, only analysis for the two protocols, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), is included; the rest of the protocols are not analyzed in this paper.
