Title

“EXPLORING THE AWARENESS AND EFFECTIVENESS OF NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY (NEP) AT THE UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL”

Abstract

This study explores how undergraduate students understand and experience the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on their awareness, access to information, and overall perception of the policy. The findings show that students’ awareness of NEP largely depends on how effectively their institutions communicate its features through workshops, orientations, and official resources. Many students appreciate the policy’s flexibility, multidisciplinary learning options, and emphasis on skill development, which they feel can make education more practical and future-oriented. However, the study also reveals that many students remain confused about key components like the Academic Bank of Credits, multiple entry-exit options, and the new curriculum structure due to inconsistent implementation and limited clarity. Overall, the research highlights that NEP 2020 holds strong potential for improving the undergraduate experience, but students can fully benefit from it only when institutions provide clearer guidance, stronger support, and better awareness initiatives.
