Title

A Study on the Role of Chartered Accountancy Professionals in Enhancing Financial Literacy in Mumbai

Abstract

This research study examines the significant role that Chartered Accountancy (CA) professionals play in enhancing financial literacy among individuals in Mumbai. In an environment where financial products, tax regulations, and investment options are becoming increasingly complex, individuals often depend on expert guidance to make informed decisions. The study aims to assess how Chartered Accountants contribute to improving financial decision-making, identify the major financial challenges faced by the public, and evaluate the effectiveness of CA’s guidance compared to other sources such as banks, digital platforms, or self-learning. Primary data was collected from seventy respondents through a structured questionnaire, and the analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test. The results indicate a strong association between CA’s involvement and improved financial awareness, with most respondents acknowledging the reliability, clarity, and personalized nature of advice.
