As academic institutions move further into the mid-2020s, the library has transitioned from a repository of static knowledge to a dynamic interface for AI-mediated discovery. This article evaluates the current trajectory of Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in university libraries. It argues that successful integration depends less on the technology itself and more on the development of "Institutional AI Readiness." We explore the shift from manual curation to automated synthesis and the evolving role of the librarian as an ethical steward of machine-generated information.
