The adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic studies has greatly altered the research methodology, writing of theses, and publication of academic reports. The tools powered by AI can help the researcher in determining research gaps, developing a suitable methodology, data analysis, and enhancing the overall quality of academic writing. In thesis writing, AI improves the structure, language precision, coherence, and reference management, thus benefiting beginning researchers and those lacking fluency in English. Moreover, AI applications in scholarly publishing help in the process of journal selection, plagiarism, manuscript formatting, and better readability, which puts a higher chance of publication. This paper will look at how AI can be used to enhance research excellence by looking at how it can be applied in the research methodology and thesis writing, as well as identifying the benefits, ethical issues, and challenges of AI-assisted academic practices. Academic originality, integrity, and long-term academic quality in the changing research ecosystem require responsible and accumulated application of AI.
