Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming academic publishing and scholarly communication with profound implications for efficiency, quality, equity, and ethics. This article reviews how AI tools are reshaping manuscript preparation, peer review, editorial workflows, dissemination, and research evaluation. We critically examine benefits—such as reduced time to publication, automated quality checks, and enhanced discoverability—as well as challenges including biases, reproducibility concerns, ethics of generative text, and impacts on academic labor. Policy implications and future directions are discussed. The paper concludes that although AI offers significant opportunity to enhance scholarship, careful governance, transparency, and human oversight remain essential
