Tourism has emerged as a significant driver of economic growth, employment generation, and regional development across both developed and developing economies. However, the sustainability and competitiveness of the tourism sector increasingly depend on the effective integration of financial management practices into tourism development strategies. This study examines how financial planning, budgeting, capital structuring, investment appraisal, risk management, and revenue optimization can be systematically embedded within tourism policy frameworks and organizational strategies.The paper adopts a conceptual and analytical approach, synthesizing existing literature on tourism economics, public finance, and corporate financial management to develop an integrated framework linking financial governance with tourism development objectives. It argues that tourism projects often face financial inefficiencies due to inadequate cost control, weak financial forecasting, poor access to capital, and limited performance monitoring mechanisms. By incorporating strategic financial tools such as cost-benefit analysis, public-private partnership financing models, sustainable investment planning, and financial risk assessment, tourism destinations can enhance resource allocation efficiency and long-term viability.The findings suggest that aligning financial management practices with sustainable tourism goals improves investment outcomes, strengthens institutional accountability, and enhances economic resilience against market volatility and external shocks. The study further highlights the role of financial inclusion, green finance, and digital payment systems in promoting inclusive and sustainable tourism growth.The paper concludes that integrating financial management into tourism development is not merely an administrative function but a strategic imperative for ensuring competitiveness, sustainability, and socio-economic impact in the evolving global tourism landscape.
