Title

FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT AND CHARACTERIZATION OF FENOFIBRATE NANOPARTICLES

Abstract

In the treatment of high-risk cardiovascular disease, the hypolipidemic expert fenofibrate lowers abnormally high blood lipid levels. The aim of the present study was to develop and evaluate new polymer based fenofibrate formulation (PBFF) using sodium alginate, chitosan, and ethyl cellulose. The evaluations are productively exhibiting the development of PBFF with the potential to be utilized as drug transporters for sustained or delayed drug release, with an emphasis on improving bioavailability. The evaluation of Fenofibrate involves multiple analytical techniques to assess its physical, chemical, and pharmacokinetic properties. Organoleptic characteristics, dissolution point, and solubility are tested to understand its basic behavior. PBFF demonstrated improved drug encapsulation, consistent shape, and a burst release profile, with release rates ranging from 72.34% to 98.56% over 12 hours. These findings highlight the potential of PBFF as effective drug delivery systems for sustained release, enhancing bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy. The emulsification sonication method produced PBFF with controlled release, delivering over 98.76% of the drug in 48 hours. Formulation F6 demonstrated excellent compatibility and effectiveness, offering a promising approach to enhance the bioavailability of poorly soluble antihyperlipidemic drugs for long-term use.
