This study aims to analyze and evaluate the inventory management practices at Perambalur Sugar Mills Ltd, located at 36 Eraiyur. Effective inventory management is crucial for the operational efficiency and profitability of manufacturing industries, especially in sectors like sugar production where seasonal availability of raw materials plays a significant role. The research focuses on assessing the current inventory control systems, identifying challenges in raw material procurement and storage, and exploring opportunities to optimize inventory levels. Both primary and secondary data were collected through interviews with key personnel and analysis of company records. Techniques such as Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), ABC analysis, and Just-in-Time (JIT) were examined for their applicability in the mill's operations. The findings indicate that while the company maintains a stable inventory system, there are opportunities for improvement through the integration of modern inventory management software and better forecasting techniques. The study concludes with strategic recommendations aimed at reducing holding costs, minimizing wastage, and improving overall inventory efficiency.
