Risk and return analysis is a crucial part of investment decision-making, particularly in the banking sector, where stock performance directly reflects financial strength and market behavior. This study examines the risk and return patterns of selected private sector banks — HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and IndusInd Bank. Key financial tools such as security return, beta, alpha, standard deviation, and correlation are used to assess the volatility, stability, and profitability of these banks. The research highlights how market fluctuations impact bank stock prices, helping investors understand which banks offer better investment opportunities with balanced risk and return. The study ultimately aims to guide informed investment decisions and identify banks that show consistent performance in a dynamic financial environment.
