Abstract
Subject-verb agreement is a very complex and important domain of English syntax. There are three types of number agreement: formal agreement, notional or semantic agreement and proximity agreement. Semantic override and number transparency are two important concepts in the field of agreement in English. There are various types of agreement in English. They include subject-verb agreement, aspectual agreement, pronoun agreement, concord with nominal adjectives, etc.
