This research investigates the scope and challenges associated with implementing India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 within CBSE-affiliated schools in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from an educational leadership perspective. The NEP 2020 introduces a paradigm shift by emphasizing inclusivity, flexibility, skill development, and multidisciplinary learning. However, executing these reforms in a cross-national context presents unique institutional and regulatory hurdles. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study identifies several critical challenges, including infrastructural demands, the complexities of the three-language formula in a multicultural environment, and the need for alignment with local UAE regulations such as the integration of Arabic language and culture. The findings highlight significant gaps in teacher preparedness and digital readiness, alongside the necessity for ongoing professional development. Educational leaders reported that driving policy adoption requires navigating curriculum mapping and stakeholder engagement amidst regulatory complexities. Despite these obstacles, there is a strong consensus among leaders that NEP 2020 aligns well with the UAE’s strategic educational frameworks, offering a viable pathway toward enhancing the quality of Indian education in the international market.
