Abstract:- Partition and migration are considered a reflection of Indian culture. The country With the partition, Bengal was also divided. The tears and blood of millions of people were mixed with the partition of the country, in this case the community became bigger than the nation: communal jihad overshadowed the national struggle. India witnessed world largest migration during 1947 when India Pakistan got independence. In the partition of India, namely Bengal, religion became dominant, and humanity faded. After the partition, a large number of refugees entered India and a significant number of them were women. 'Refugee women' was a new social class, which was born out of the devastating events of the partition, which was very painful. There are numerous pictures, movies, eye witnessed, writings, news documentaries, depicting, the pain and suffering of women. Unfortunately, this particular gender bore the most lasting physical and mental scars of the partition; on the one hand as refugees and on the other as women. The women of East Bengal had to pay the price of freedom at the cost of their chastity, the lives of their husbands, themselves and their beloved children. No words are enough to describe their suffering. They became the common target of all inhuman activities. Sexual assault, bureaucratic violence, forced marriage, intimidation, religious conversion have a significant history frozen in the memories of the eyewitnesses, which turned their habitable world into hell. The struggle of refugee women is not only an anecdote of their mental and physical suffering, which was undoubtedly a depiction of their experience of suffering for shelter, rehabilitation and employment. In this difficult journey, they emerged from the clutches of division as a distinct class of self-reliant new women and soon became social, cultural and political activists of a progressive secular trend. The main theme of the article under discussion is to shed light on the crisis and struggle for transition of refugee women.
