Abstract: A single server batch arrival queue with two stages of heterogeneous services has been considered. After first stage service, the server must provide second stage service. At the end of each second stage service, the server may take compulsory vacation. The system may breakdown at random and it undergoes two types of repairs. The arrival, service, vacation and repair times are distributed according to some designed statistical distributions. The probability generating functions and expected number of units in the system have been derived.
