In this study, a series of batch laboratory experiments were conducted in order to investigate the feasibility of CissusQuadrangularis Stem activated carbon for the removal of iron from aqueous solution by adsorption process.Batch experiment was adopted to study the Removal efficiency of Fe2+on varying contact time, temperature, adsorbent dosage, pHand concentrations.The adsorption was studied for Langmuir, Freundlich, Tempkin, Dubinin-Raduskevich, Hurkins-Jura, Halsey, Radlich-Peterson, Jovanovich and BET isotherms. The kinetic studies showed that the data were well described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.Thermodynamic parameters e.g. ΔG°, ΔS° and ΔH° of the adsorption process was found to be endothermic. Finally it can be seen that activated carbon was found to be effective for removal of Fe2+.
