In this article, we apply two methods to find the exact solutions for some nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics, the homogenous balance method and the modified kudryashov method With the aid of computer algebraic system Mathematica. We apply the modified kudryashov method to construct the exact traveling wave solutions of the nonlinear fifth-order Sawada-Kotera equation and the nonlinear fifth-lax equation. We apply the homogeneous balance method to construct the exact traveling wave solutions of the nonlinear seventh-order Sawada-Kotera equation and the nonlinear seventh-lax equation. These equations have wide applications in quantum mechanics and nonlinear optics.
