Intrusion detection system (IDS) is the main defence which concurrence with firewalls and other security systems are implementing to detect the intrusions, attacks, and unauthorized misbehaviour. Misuse detection is the part of IDS which can be prevent and detect from the security attacks or intrusions. This paper using fuzzy misuse detection approach to detect the attacks or intrusion and describe the various data mining and machine learning techniques.
