The compound Harris (CH) distribution is introduced. Probabilities of the distribution are evaluated. Some of the statistical, distributional and reliability properties of the distribution are discussed. A characterization of the distribution is established using its S- function. Simulation and estimation of parameters are done using method of moments and probability generating function (pgf) based BHHJ method. Fitting of the distribution is carried out using a real life data.
