Title

Strength Characteristics of Slurry Infiltrated Hybrid Fibrous Ferrocement

Abstract

Main objective of this experimentation programme was to study the strength characteristics of slurry infiltrated hybrid fibrous ferrocement (SIHFF). The different types of fibres used in this experimentation programme were steel fibres (SF), carbon fibres (CF), basalt fibres (BF), galvanized iron fibres (GIF) and polypropylene fibres (PPF). The different combinations of hybrid fibres used in this experimentation programme were (SF+CF), (SF+BF), (SF+GIF) and (SF+PPF) and percentage of fibres used is (1%+1%). The monofibres were added at 2% by volume fraction. The strength characteristics studied in this paper include compressive strength, flexural strength and flexural toughness factor.
