Title

Impact of Online Learning during Covid-19 among Students and Teachers in Howrah District, West Bengal

Abstract

The main aim of this study was to assess the impact of online learning among undergraduate students and college teachers of various collages of Howrah district, west Bengal during Covid-19 pandemic. An online survey was conducted from 24th June to 14th July, 2020 by using convenient sampling technique. Data were collected from 172 students and 43 teachers of four different colleges of Howrah district in West Bengal. Percentages were calculated for data analysis. Result shows that almost half of the respondents (students and teachers) had negative perception towards online learning and there is significant impact of selected demographic variables of the respondents with most of the Statements (Attitude and Activities/Problems). However, majority felt that online classes should be continued during this crisis. Now, in the context of rural area like Howrah district it is not fully effective unless the factors affecting the online learning process are taken into account. The findings of this study will help to solve the actual problem faced by teachers and students while running online classes to make the education system more effective.
