Title

Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of a Rotary Machine using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Analysis

Abstract

In our day to day life we are using number of machines and most of these machines consist of rotating parts to perform their specific work. Since these parts are rotating at high rpm, severe fault in them causes excessive vibrations in machine components. These vibrations may cause large damage and may cause serious effects either in the form of human injury or company cost. To avoid these types of vibrational effects, the faults in rotating machine should be diagnosed before it occurs. This work has been undertaken for the condition monitoring of the rotary machine and thereby to diagnose the fault present in it. The analysis technique used for condition monitoring is Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) using three axis accelerometers.
