Women liberation is the vital issue for the growth of a nation. On this part the self-help group plays a key role in determining the women liberation in the rural areas. SHG promotes the socioeconomic strength to the weaker section of the community and so it stimulates the growth of the nation. This review articulates the complete picture of the achievement of SHG towards women liberation. The study shows that the SHG members gain equality of status, women as participants, and decision makers in democratic, economic and social spheres of life. In this study few of the measures to be taken for the effective operation of SHG.
