: For the development of any nation, women empowerment plays an important role. Women disempowerment is mostly due to poverty. To empower women different strategies such as government schemes and NGOs are being used. In India, SHGs help in the implementation of microfinance programs. The people belonging to similar socio economic conditions and residing in the same locality make SHGs. These associations are voluntary associations formed to attain similar goals as well as for the alleviation of the poverty conditions. This present study is done to understand the status of women empowerment. It is also analyzed here in this study that SHGs impact the socio-economic power of women.
