The design of shear walls is a crucial aspect of building construction to resist lateral loads such as wind and earthquake forces. The traditional manual design approach involves complex calculations and assumptions, which may lead to errors and inconsistencies. With the advent of software tools, the design of shear walls has become more efficient and accurate. This research paper presents a comparative study of the design of shear walls using both manual and software-based approaches. The paper analyses the results of the manual and software-based design approaches, highlighting the differences and similarities in the design outcome.
