Balrog is the branch of Ashtang Ayurved that deals with child health care throughout Ayurveda. Ayurved has special focus on children ayurvedic preparation have been used to build a healthy body and sharp intellect right from the time of infancy for thousands of years. Clinical features of Kukunaka can be correlated to the disease Congenital Naso Lacrimal Duct Obstruction. It is usually seen in new born babies. It is characterized by continuous watery discharge from the eye associated with frequent rubbing of nasal area, itching of eye frequently and photophobia. Kukunaka is a type of Netra Vartmagata Vyadhi which is seen during baalyavastha i.e in Ksheerapa Avastha explained by Acharya Kashyapa. It can be corelated with Ophthalmia Neonatorum & congenital naso lacrimal duct obstruction. So this article is focusing on Kukunaka with special reference to Balrog.
