The construction of multipurpose dams like Polavaram project has led to the displacement of millions of people worldwide, resulting in significant social, economic, cultural impacts on affected communities. This study examines the experiences of aged, women and youth who have been forcibly relocated from their ancestral homes and resettled in new locations. Through research methods like interviews, group discussions and observation investigated the challenges faced by this vulnerable population. These challenges include loss of traditional livelihoods and cultural heritage, disruption of community networks and cohesion, problems of adjustment and increased chances of exploitation. But Youth expressed the chances of education and employment opportunities in new locations. The displaced aged, women and youth often face unique challenges and problems in new environment.
