The prime purpose to conduct this study is threefold: (a) ascertaining whether there exists any significant association between the job characteristics and job satisfaction; (b) determining whether job characteristics are significant related to the academic performance; and (c) examining whether there exists any significant association between the job satisfaction and academic performance. The present study was undertaken on a sample of 400 college teachers, in which 200 teachers were randomly selected from constituent colleges and the remaining 200 from affiliated colleges of Jai Prakash University, Chapra, Bihar. For measuring job satisfaction, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) developed by David J. Weiss et al. (1967) was used. Job performance was assessed with the help of the Job Performance Questionnaire developed by Bharti Gandhi (2002). The correlation between job characteristics, job satisfaction, and academic performance of teachers was computed by applying Karl Pearson’s Correlation Method.
