Every personality has its own characteristics. It is born with some characteristics and remains with them even after death. All personality traits consist of some patterns in behaviour such as cognitive, affective etc. Personality trait means such distinctive character of thoughts, feelings and actions of an individual which distinguishes him from other individuals. Thus, personality is the sum of all personality traits. The aim of the present study was to find out the difference in personality of children of nuclear and extended families. The "High School Personality Questionnaire" designed by Raymond B. Cattell and Mary B. Cattell (1969) was administered. Differences in personality of rural and urban children were discussed.
