Kushta is broad term used in Ayurveda for almost all skin diseases. Skin diseases makes serious impact on body as health related quality of life changes and on mind as cosmetological problem. According to Global burden of diseases, Skin diseases are increasing since few decades. In general Skin diseases are mainly observed due to altered lifestyle, lack of physical exercise, poor hygiene, mental stress, improper food habits. Kitibha kushta is one among the Kshudra kushta. Here Saptadhatu i.e.Tridosha ,Twaka, Rakta , Mamsa and Ambu are involved. Rakta dushti is main cause for Twaka vikaras. Virechana is line of treatment for raktaja vikaras. Psoriasis is chronic, inflammatory, hyperproliferative skin disease. As it relapsing in nature needs long term treatment. In this case study , A 45 year old female patient had come to Kayachikitsa OPD with chief complaints of Kandu with whitish scaly patches over both elbows and blackish discoloration over lower extremities. She treated with Virechana karma and shamanoushadhi. Thus this paper highlights a case study of Kitibha kushta (plaque psoriasis) treated with Ayurvedic Principles.
