The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 marks a significant shift in India's education landscape, emphasizing the importance of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in shaping the country's educational framework. Despite its potential, integrating IKS into modern education poses several challenges. This paper explores the key issues in implementing IKS in the context of NEP 2020, including standardization, language barriers, resistance from conventional academic circles, and the need for qualified teachers. The study highlights the importance of addressing these challenges to harness the benefits of IKS and promote holistic development. By examining the role of IKS in NEP 2020, this research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in integrating traditional knowledge systems into modern education.
