Abstract

As part of my summer internship at InspiringMinds, I worked within the Human Resources department, where I was involved in varied activities including recruitment procedures, preparing and editing freelancer contracts, and organizing & arranging training programs. The internship, gave me significant exposure to the operational as well as strategic side of HR management. The internship helped me achieve a better grasp of HR practices, especially in talent acquisition, employee engagement, and training design. I was engaged in coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate the timely delivery of assignments and smooth execution of HR processes. These experiences helped me develop organizational, communication, and problem-solving competencies, as well as infused professional discipline and responsibility into me. A major take-away from this internship was the integration of theoretical HR concepts learned through my BBA course of study into the practical arena. Through the close interaction with experienced professionals and 1:1 mentoring, I was able to transfer classroom learning to real-world application. Exposure to policy documentation, coordination for training activities, and the recruitment process gave me an overall picture of the HR function. As a whole, the internship experience with InspiringMinds was a satisfying and enriching one in which not only did my technical expertise in HR practices take hold, but also my personal and professional skills were honed. The experience and know-how learned in this time will be the stepping stone for my future studies and career path in the discipline of Human Resource Management.
